The Carthy Collection is a mother-daughter jewelry brand created by Carly and Kathy and built around something we both love — making pieces that feel a little different from everything else.
Our styles aren't always the same. Neither are our ideas.
And that's part of what makes Carthy, Carthy.
We design and handcraft jewelry using an unexpected mix of leather, cork, metal, stone, wood, glass and pearls, allowing texture, color and natural materials to guide each design.
No mass production. No need for everything to match.
Just jewelry with personality.
Where “Carthy” Came From
Even our name is a combination of the two of us.
CAR comes from the first three letters of Carly.
THY comes from the last three letters of Kathy.
Put them together and you get:
CAR + THY = CARTHY
A mother. A daughter. And a name that belongs to both of us.
Unexpected Materials. Individual Style.
Sometimes a design starts with a beautiful stone.
Sometimes it’s a piece of painted cork, an interesting piece of leather, a pearl, a piece of wood or a metal component we simply can’t leave behind.
Then we start playing.
We mix materials, shapes, colors and textures until they become something distinctly ours.
That’s how pieces like our Pearl Daggers, gemstone hoops, leather and cork designs, and reversible jewelry come to life.
We don’t believe jewelry has to follow rules.
We think it should be fun to wear.
Handmade Means Individual
Because our jewelry is handmade and many of our materials are natural, no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
A stone may have a slightly different marking. Cork patterns may fall differently. Leather may have its own natural texture.
We don’t see those differences as imperfections.
We think they’re what make your piece yours.
From Our Hands to Yours
You’ll find us creating in the studio, experimenting with new materials, setting up at artisan markets and occasionally wondering whether one more pair of earrings really needs to come home with us.
Usually, the answer is yes. 😊
What began as something we loved doing together has grown into a collection we’re proud to share with you.
